He led a review of strategy to refocus BCS back to its’ underlying charitable purpose of “Making IT Good for Society”.
In his speech, Paul said ” Organisations of all shapes and sizes are now more reliant on technology than ever before. The way we work, interact and transact is changing very rapidly, and the transformation being wrought by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, blockchain, cloud and other technologies makes IT the most exciting place to be right now”.
He also said “IT is about people. And BCS wants qualified, ethical, people – those who are skilled and trustworthy – to lead the charge in developing these opportunities. To support this, we developed Chartered Status for IT professionals (CITP). This is the benchmark which we established to give IT professionals the opportunity to be recognised in the same way as many other professions such as Accounting, Law or Medicine”.
